Just when we were wondering who would bring the heat for South Africa’s dance floors this winter, Inter B & Draad decided to kick down the door with “Sgafro 57”, their first release of 2025. And trust us, it’s hotter than a midday taxi ride with no aircon.

Officially out now (dropped May 9th), “Sgafro 57” is the sonic punch that blends Sgija swagger with Afro house soul, a fusion the duo coined “Sgafro.” Yes, it’s a whole genre. Yes, they invented it. And yes, they’re back to remind us why they’re the landlords of this sound.

Let’s rewind a bit.

These two aren’t new to the scene. After last year’s Sgafro Disciples EP had us all moving like we owed the beat money, Inter B & Draad said, “Why stop there?” So they hit the studio again, determined to outdo themselves, and it shows. “Sgafro 57” is that track you didn’t know you needed until your speakers catch the bassline and your shoulders start moving on their own.
