Some songs make you dance.
Some songs make you reflect.
And then there are songs like “We Going Higher”, the kind that make you do both at the same time.
Featured on the RE-BORN (3 Step) EP, Gene Boi’s latest uplifting single is built around resilience, faith, and forward motion. It’s the soundtrack for anyone who has ever faced a setback and decided, “Not today.”
Because sometimes going higher starts with getting back up.
A Soundtrack for Growth
“We Going Higher” captures the spirit of perseverance, reminding listeners that every obstacle is not a stop sign, but a stepping stone.
Blending infectious 3-Step rhythms with rich Afro House textures, Gene Boi creates a sonic space that feels both emotional and empowering. The production carries weight, but it never feels heavy. It’s reflective without losing its bounce.
You can feel the message in the music:
- The steady rhythmic pulse mirrors consistency.
- The layered textures represent growth.
- The uplifting energy pushes everything forward.
It’s motivational music — but make it dancefloor ready.
The Bigger Picture: RE-BORN (3 Step)
RE-BORN (3 Step) isn’t just a title. It’s a statement.
The project explores renewal, strength, and emotional clarity, all wrapped in the evolving South African 3-Step sound. It celebrates growth while acknowledging the process that comes before it.
And “We Going Higher” stands out as the emotional heartbeat of the EP.
It’s the kind of record that works:
- At sunrise festival sets.
- During late-night introspective drives.
- Or when you need a reminder that your current chapter is not your final one.
